Challenge
The Chicago Park District (CPD) owns more than 8,800 acres of green space, making it the largest municipal park manager in the nation. With over 600 parks, Chicago Park District offers thousands of cultural and environmental programs, sports, and physical activities for youth, adults, and seniors. CPD’s extensive park systems require a large workforce contingent, approximately two-thirds of which are seasonal. CPD’s large seasonal recruiting activities depended on manual process and non-systematic technology components to get a workforce in place on time.
Solution
Krasan Consulting implemented Oracle’s Taleo Recruiting and Onboarding solution. The team documented the existing business processes, created the requirements for the Taleo solution, and then documenting and configuring the solution designed for CPD. CPD was trained on the system to help their team fully embrace the new software and processes. Once the system was in place, the Taleo was integrated with Oracle EBS.
Outcome
Once the implementation and integration was complete, the CPD’s system was now robust and systemized so that the workforce needs of the department are processed without manual spreadsheets and disparate technologies, speeding up the process.
At the completion of the project the CPD team received:

- The capability to identify cadindate status throughout the lifecycle of submissions and considerations

- Provided the capability to identify the status of a candidate through the submission and consideration lifecycle.
- Provided integration with external systems for a fully systemic approach of candidate identification and input, resume evaluation, interview, selection, and candidate onboarding onto HR systems.
- Fluid technology improved visibility and reporting of aggregate and individual submissions.
